Taking a Break

In this version of the art, focus characters, Surge the Tenrec and Kit the Fennec, take a break from their villainy and decide to hang out at the heroes’ local arcade. Sonic and his friends are very accepting of the two misfits and enjoy their playful mischief.

Baddie Hangout

In my second version, I wanted to imagine Surge and Kit among their villainess co-workers. Baddies from all across the Sonic franchise have come together to take over the arcade!

Background & Machines

When working on this piece, I knew I wanted to put as much time and love into the background as I did with the characters, even if most viewers wouldn’t see it. I researched all the different official Sonic the Hedgehog arcade machines and combined them in one fun Sonic the Hedgehog arcade.

Arcade Carpet

You can’t have an arcade without that classic arcade carpet! This was my first time creating a repeating pattern and with all the bright colors and fun details, I’m happy with how it came out!

Arcade Machine Logos

One of the most important parts of making the most faithful recreations of each arcade machine was the iconic logos. In my own style, I redrew Sonic and his friends proudly displayed on each cabinet.
